“Be true to your work, your word and your friend.”
~
Henry David Thoreau

“This above all; to thine own self be true.”

William Shakespeare

“It is a terrible thing to see and have no vision.”
~
Helen Keller

Someone once defined integrity as “what you do when no one else is looking.” I would add to that definition, it’s also “who” you are when no one else is looking.

Are you a person who is moral, honest, caring, and compassionate in public as well as in private? Do you treat others with more compassion and kindness than you treat yourself? Many of us do, and the result may lead to unfulfilled dreams, stunted creativity and spiritual growth, and failed relationships.

Living an authentic life is one where your inner and outer realities and beliefs are aligned. When you are able to share that truth with others, you create intimacy and community.

Authentic living requires that you:

  • Listen to the wisdom that is in and around you
  • Be real about “who” you are and “how” you are with others
  • Have the courage to act in the face of fear

Shannon’s personal and professional experience is focused on helping others to live with integrity and authenticity in all areas of their lives: at home, at work, in their communities, and in the world at large. Telling the truth to yourself first, and then to others in a compassionate way, is ultimately liberating and authentically powerful.

Wherever you are in your life, there is room to live on a deeper level. Some of us don’t know where to begin. As Pema Chodron says, “This very moment is the perfect teacher.” You are invited to join with me and with others in the conversation exploring how to live in this complex world with integrity and authenticity.

Rumi, the 13th Century Sufi poet and mystic says, “Out beyond the fields of right-doing and wrong-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.”

Be Well.
